How to create Instagram Reels from long videos

Choose source moments, a 9:16 output, clip length and captions for Instagram Reels, then review before posting.

To make a Reel from a long video, choose a moment that makes sense on its own, generate a 9:16 output and check the captions, framing and content rights. MostClip prepares the MP4; you upload it to Instagram yourself.

How should I choose a source video?

A product explanation, interview answer, useful lesson or story payoff can work. Clear audio and a focused topic make strong moments easier to identify. Obtain permission before processing or republishing someone else’s video.

Which preferences should I start with?

  1. Add your own video link or upload a file.
  2. Select a 9:16 output.
  3. For an initial test, try 30–60 seconds and a maximum of 3 or 5 clips. This is a workflow suggestion, not an Instagram rule.
  4. Optionally select educational, funny or emotional moments.
  5. Download the prepared clips and review them before posting.

How do I know a clip is ready?

The opening sentence should not depend on the previous scene. A clip should develop one idea and include its conclusion. Check that its headline matches the actual claim, and proofread names, numbers and captions. Use Instagram’s own preview to check whether interface controls cover important text.

Why use a blurred background in vertical output?

A tight crop can remove a second speaker or important visual context from a landscape source. MostClip can preserve the original composition over a blurred background. Automatic face tracking and close-ups are not guaranteed for every source.

Does the source length or clip count use my allowance?

Processing allowances use source-video duration. A new analysis of a 19-minute, 2-second video consumes 20 minutes. Downloading the same completed result again does not use additional analysis minutes.
